with our Artistic Director, Katy Taylor
After a fantastic autumn welcoming audiences back to the Queen’s Hall, we’re delighted to have a jam-packed spring season ahead of us!
Our theatre programme is full of reimagined classics including The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and The Invisible Man alongside unmissable new productions from the North such as The Monocle and Wor Bella. There really is something for everyone. To celebrate the return of great theatre to our stage this spring, we’re offering the chance to bring a friend along for free! More details on this can be found in the Theatre section.
Our comedy line-up includes big names like Shaparak Khorsandi who’s transporting us back to the 90’s, Simon Evans, Matt Forde and a new offering from Alistair McGowan in The Piano Show which mixes classic comedy with classical music.
We loved seeing so many families enjoy our 2021 Christmas show, The Remarkable Robin Armstrong’s Extraordinary Christmas Adventure, and can’t wait to bring more great stories to life. We’re delighted to be welcoming back The Gramaphones Theatre Company, who brought us Tarzanna last year, with another aerial treat for the whole family to enjoy with Aidy the Awesome.
We’re also pleased to see the return of Northumbrian folk duo The Brothers Gillespie as well as local legends Ray Laidlaw and Billy Mitchell who bring The Lindisfarne Story 50 Years of Fog to Queen’s Hall in March.
And there’s lots more to look forward to, as well as opportunities to get involved yourself. The staff team, trustees and volunteers are delighted to be able to welcome back our community and audiences with a real bang this spring.
